The Departments

The areas of responsibility of the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior are divided into the General Internal Administration and the Board of Building and Public Works.

We are happy to inform people about the tasks our staff perform (around 61,000 in all, including 400 in the Ministry of the Interior in Munich's Odeon Square and 320 in the Board of Building and Public Works), and the use to which they put the € 4.4 billion allocated to them by the State Parliament in 2002. This funding is used to protect, prevent, and regulate in our efforts to combat crime; to create more living space, and to organize domestic administration in the best possible way.
